Title: M.D.P. Allan Klock Jr. is a Professor and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Chicago. He received his B.S. in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his M.D. from the University of Connecticut. He completed his residency at the Brigham and Women¹s Hospital. He is a Past-President of the Society for Airway Management and is also a Past-President of the Medical Staff at the University of Chicago Medical Center. His clinical interests include difficult airway management, anesthesia for thoracic surgery and engineering applications in anesthesia and perioperative medicine.
Title: M.D.Dr McNaull is a pediatric anesthesiologist at the University of North Carolina where she serves as the Vice Chair for Patient Safety and Quality Improvement and the Division Chief for Pediatric Anesthesiology. Beyond her roles within UNC’s Department of Anesthesiology, Dr. McNaull is on the Board of Directors for the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology, the Program Chair for this year’s SPA Winter meeting, and very active in the American Board of Anesthesiology as an Oral Board examiner and a Senior Editor for the Advanced Exam. Dr. BobbieJean Sweitzer completed a residency in internal medicine after graduation from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. After practicing medicine for a number of years she trained in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. After more than a decade at MGH and Harvard Medical School she was at the University of Chicago as a Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care, Professor of Medicine and Director, Anesthesia Perioperative Medicine Clinic for and is now Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Perioperative Medicine at Northwestern University.
She is an author and editor of Preoperative Assessment and Management (1st and 2nd editions; soon to be 3rd edition) and is a reviewer for several academic journals and is on the editorial board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Sweitzer has authored over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and lectures nationally and internationally on perioperative medicine topics. Dr. Sweitzer is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, founding member of the Governing Board, past President of the Society of Perioperative Assessment and Quality Improvement, and an elected member of the Association of University Anesthesiologists.
