As one of the nation’s top public research universities with particular distinctions in medicine and genetics, the University of Utah fosters multidisciplinary, translational research. A key component to the university’s success is the Utah Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS). The CCTS, including its partnering organizations: Intermountain Healthcare, Utah Department of Health, and the Veteran’s Administration (VA) Salt Lake City Health Care System, is a unique campus-wide resource supported both by the institution and the National Institutes for Health Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA).
Through its four Foundations of Discovery and multiple services, the CCTS increases the visibility, volume, and quality of translational research by successfully facilitating multi-disciplinary collaborations between academic, clinical, and community-based institutions. The long established CCTS aims to build capacity of investigators participating in all spectrums of research by providing a wide range of research resources and services.
