Evaluations/Surveys
Conferences and Events Evaluations
The intent of the course evaluation is to analyze changes in the learner’s competence, performance, or patient outcomes achieved as a result of the CME activity. The purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of the CME activity in meeting the identified educational needs and whether the desired results were achieved. This is done by including the objectives on the course evaluation and asking the learner’s to what extent the objectives were met. A sample course evaluation.
Regularly Scheduled CME Activity Surveys
The ACCME's requirement for compliance with Element 2.4 calls for the provider to "measure the effectiveness of the CME activity in meeting the identified educational need in terms of satisfaction, knowledge, or skills." Exemplary compliance with Element 2.4 calls for the provider to measure the effectiveness of the CME activity in meeting the identified educational need in terms of practice application and/or health status improvement.
To properly implement this requirement we have the following two types of surveys:
Event Based Survey
- Paper based survey to be delivered to participants for a given CME event. At least two of these are required per year for a given RSC Activity.
- Sample Survey
- Sample Survey (New Criteria)
- Online survey that is emailed to the participant of a given CME event. View a sample survey.
To implement this type of survey, contact us (link to contact us page) for more information.
Program Wide Survey
Element 2.5 requires the provider to evaluate the effectiveness of its overall program of CME, which includes your organization's mission and operations (i.e. staff, policies), in addition to activities.
Providers are required to evaluate the effectiveness of CME activities in meeting identified educational needs. The paper based survey is to be filled out by the CME event course director and faxed/mailed to the U of U CME office at the end of the accreditated year. (Before June 15th)
