Sonja N. Van Hala, MD, MPH
Enjoys full-spectrum family care from the newborn to the grandparent, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, women's and men's health, and preventive medicine. In addition, her professional interests include international health, care for the underserved, healthy lifestyles, and curriculum development. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1998, trained in Family Medicine at the University of Utah, and completed a two-year curriculum development fellowship in 2003, earning a Masters of Public Health from the University of Utah. She has directed the Family Medicine Residency Curriculum Committee since July 2003 and became Residency Program Director in 2005. She enjoys live music, cooking with her husband, mountain biking, alpine and Nordic skiing, trail-running with her dog, learning Spanish, and sharing time with her son.
