Public / Community Project (Course MD ID 7170)
The Public/Community Project is a required four week course that teaches an introduction to the five core areas of public health: epidemiology, biostatistics, behavioral science, environmental health, and health policy/administration. Learning will be accomplished through a combination of lecture and small group, problem-based learning and may include interaction with community partners for applied learning experiences.
This course is intended to review some of the science of public health, expose students to essential functions of public health, practice communication of scientific information to peers and the public, and explore some current issues in public health.
