Other International Opportunities

Many other opportunities exist for participation in global health programs. Programs affiliated with the University of Utah, but run outside the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine Office of Global Health are listed below along with the links to the programs or to pages with more information.
Thailand International Elective
The University of Utah Physician Assistant Program holds an international elective in Thailand to interest clinicians and public health practitioners in international health.
Medicine in Kumasi Ghana
The Medicine in Kumasi Ghana Program takes place in Kumasi (second largest city in Ghana) and surrounding villages. Students will observe and participate in hands-on projects that have been successfully implemented and are positively changing health conditions in West Africa.
Ghana: Clinical Medicine Service Elective (PA and Family Medicine students only)
A clinically based service rotation allowing students to teach, as well as the opportunity to see patients and learn about how medicine is practiced in Ghana.
