Welcome to the Division of Physician Assistant Studies

Mission
To increase access to health care, with a focus on medically underserved communities, by educating highly qualified physician assistants in the primary care model.

Objectives:

  • Recruit and educate diverse, service-oriented PA students.
  • Provide skilled physician assistants to decrease health care disparities in the diverse communities in which they serve.
  • Prepare graduates to deliver culturally sensitive patient-centered evidence based care as members of the interprofessional team.
  • Promote and expand the PA profession through leadership, scholarship and service.

Vision
The University of Utah Physician Assistant Studies will be a leader in PA education by providing an innovative and equitable academic and clinical environment to inspire graduates to fulfill our mission while also contributing to the growth of the profession.
