Academic Bio

Dr. Michael's research interests have been understanding mechanisms involved in causing acute lung injury, increasing pulmonary vascular and epithelial permeability and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Michael was actively involved in research from 1980 to 2001 supported by VA, NIH and American Lung Association funding. Dr. Michael discontinued his active involvement in research in 2001 when he took on significant administrative responsibilities.
