Academic Bio

Harald Olafsson is a Doctor of Optometry with a practice at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Utah Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Olafsson is the Director of Contact Lens Services and specializes in the fitting of contact lenses. His particular interests lie in the area of keratoconus, pediatrics, and fitting traumatized eyes and eyes with severe or irregular astigmatism. Dr. Olafsson also provides primary eye care for those who do or do not wear contact lenses. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science and his doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry. In addition, he received medical training at U.S. Army, Fort Sam Houston, Houston, Texas. Dr. Olafsson practices at the John A. Moran Eye Center, Salt Lake City, Utah.
