Dean's Club

Dean's Club membership cards and parking permits have been given each year as a benefit for School of Medicine faculty in recognition of their contribution to the institution through the payment of dean's tax on clinical revenues.

Eligibility

  1. Permanent faculty* with .75 FTE or higher
    1. *permanent faculty: tenure, clinical, research, and lecturer track (advertising and posting for position is required)
  2. Participate in the School of Medicine's risk pool*
    1. *risk pool: member of the University of Utah School of Medicine malpractice plan
  3. Generate clinical income (for at least 6 months of the 2010-11 academic year) subject to Dean's tax through UUMG contracts.  
These requirements thereby exclude adjunct and visiting faculty.

Qualifying

We are asking that each department provide a list of qualifying faculty, based on the above criteria to the Faculty Administration Office by September 6, 2011.

Departments must use the attached spreadsheet when submitting your suggested Dean's Club membership list to Kristie.lheureux@hsc.utah.edu by September 6, 2011. Membership spreadsheets/lists that are submitted in a diiferent format will be returned to the Department for correction and may delay distribution of the 2011-12 Parking Passes. Current passes expire September 15, 2011.

The Dean's Office will review your submitted membership spreadsheet/list and verify that all members meet the above stated four criteria.

The final approved spreadsheet/list of 2011-12 Dean's Club members will be returned to your department by September 13, 2011.

Please do not notify your faculty of their inclusion on the 2011-12 Dean's Club list until you have received the final spreadsheet/list and passes provided to you by the Faculty Administration Office.

Faculty with dual appointments will receive membership through their primary department only.

Requests for exceptions to the above eligibility requirements must be made in writing to the Faculty Administration Office no later than September 6, 2011 and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Lost permits WILL NOT BE REPLACED.

Contains: Locker rooms for Men & Women (contain showers, sauna & jacuzzi), Weight Room, Circuit Weights, LifeCycles, Stair machines, Nordic Track Ski Machines, Racquetball Courts, Squash Courts, Tennis Courts & Indoor Track (NOTE: Racquetball, Squash & Tennis Courts must be reserved in advance.)
