Switching Out of the Tenure Track
Tenure-track, Assistant Professor faculty may switch out of the tenure track only at the third-year retention review. No exceptions are allowed. Approval for switching from the tenure track requires a statement of proposal from the candidate and department chair, and approved by the Dean of the SOM and the Senior Vice-President of the Health Sciences Center .
Track switching from any track is treated as a new appointment. Departments must meet requirements outlined in the recruitment, selection, and appointment of faculty.
