Pre-requisite Training
EduCAT Training
Effective July 1, 2005, all housestaff are required to complete EduCAT (JCAHO and OSHA required safety training) training and HIPAA (protected health information) training.
This is a pre-empolyment requirement for all housestaff hired June 24, 2005, or after.
Newly hired residents will receive an Employee ID number and computer log-on access to the University of Utah computer network via e-mail several weeks prior to their hire dates. This is a pre-employment requirement. Newly hired residents will not be able to start work, and will not be considered hired until this pre-requisite training has been completed. As a result, hire dates and contracts will be changed and pay will not commence until the pre-requisite training has been completed.
