Dev Abraham, M.D.
Dr. Dev Abraham is a Board Certified Endocrinologist and an Associate Professor in Medicine. He did his training in Endocrinology in England and completed his Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He is involved in diabetes research, studying glucose homeostasis by the euglycemic clamp technique and FSIVGTT with hemochromatosis. He performs ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration. He is among few who perform ultrasound guided parathyroid fine needle aspiration to pinpoint malfunctioning parathyroid glands prior to surgery. He has a general endocrinology practice at the University of Utah and the VA Hospital.

- 1. Glucose homeostasis in Hereditary Hemochromatosis. This is a conjoint project that is conducted by Drs. J.P.Kushner MD and D.A.McClain MD PHD. The incidence, correlation to iron over load and development of diabetes in relation to hepatic dysfunction are being studied.
- 2. Percutaneous localization of parathyroid adenoma using real time ultrasound guided fine needle biopsy.
- 3. Validity of estimation of thyroglobulin, PTH and calcitonin in left over syringe aspirate following fine needle aspiration biopsy.
