Robert E. Jones, M.D.
Robert E. Jones, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from Utah State University and earned his MD from the University of Utah. He received postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in San Francisco and Denver and completed his fellowship in Endocrinology at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology. He has held clinical faculty appointments at the University of Washington and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Following his retirement from the military in 1997, he joined the faculty of the University of Utah, and he is currently a clinical professor of medicine and medical director of the Utah Diabetes Center. Dr. Jones works very closely with state-sponsored programs that are dedicated to improve both provider and patient education programs designed to improve the quality of care for diabetes management. He has authored over 90 articles, book chapters and abstracts and has edited 2 textbooks on diabetes management.
