THYROID ULTRASOUND AND FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION CLINIC
Our physicians in the thyroid and parathyroid clinic are dedicated to providing superior medical care and evaluation for patients with thyroid and parathyroid diseases; primarily, the identification of thyroid cancer recurrence and localization of parathyroid tumors. Our staff is skilled at diagnosing and treating patients with thyroid nodules, cysts, thyroid cancer and parathyroid tumors. In most cases, fine needle aspiration biopsy is performed under ultrasound guidance on the same day of your office visit. Immediate post-biopsy staining of the specimen reduces the number of attempts needed for obtaining adequate specimens and improves patient comfort and tolerance of this procedure.
On a case by case basis, unique, non-surgical therapy such as alcohol ablation of thyroid cysts and parathyroid tumors will be considered and offered in the clinic.
We offer a multi-disciplinary approach that includes endocrinologists, head and neck surgeons, radiologists, cytologists, and pathologists who are leaders in their disciplines. Complex cancer patients are also assessed through the tumor board at the Huntsman Cancer Institute which also involves a multi-disciplinary team approach. Although we are based in Salt Lake City, Utah, we accept referrals from all over the United States and work with thyroid and parathyroid surgeons across the United States.
