Course Description

This course focuses on the role of endoscopy and endoscopic surgery in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of gastrointestinal, biliary and pancreatic disorders.  It is designed for gastroenterology practitioners and gastrointestinal endoscopists, GI fellows, and GI mid-level providers.  General and pancreaticobiliary surgeons will also benefit.  This year there will also be a program directed specifically for GI nurses and technicians.  Sessions will center on endoscopic diagnosis, management and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.  Difficult clinical problems and the roles of new techniques will be covered using lectures, video, hands-on demonstrations and live endoscopy.  The faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized experts in the field of therapeutic endoscopy.  This year's course combines University of Utah and Brigham and Women's Gastroenterology Faculty and other invited experts in an informal atmosphere that invites audience participation.
