Preventive Cardiology

Who we are and what we do:

The Cardiovascular Prevention Program is both an inpatient and outpatient program.  The Madsen Preventive Cardiology Program is a comprehensive family-focused approach to the detection, treatment, and prevention of heart disease. Our Program differs from other cardiovascular programs in its emphasis on a comprehensive, case managed long-term risk reduction program for the patient and family members found to be at risk for the development of heart disease.

Our program includes:

-  weight management
-  stress management
-  lipid management
-  smoking sesation
-  nutrition counseling
-  nutrition classes

Preventive Cardiology targets the risk factors that cause:

-  Myocardial Infarction (heart attack)
-  Angina (heart pain)
-  Atherosclerosis (cholesterol build up in the heart arteries or other arteries)
-  Stroke
-  Vascular Disease

Who need preventive cardiology care?

Anyone who has experienced any of these events should have cardiovascular prevention to prevent further heart injury or damage.

-  heart attack
-  angina
-  angioplasty(stent)
-  stroke
