Welcome to the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, in the Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Our division is actively engaged in a wide range of clinical, research and educational endeavors.
Clinical Care
We have ten Endocrinologists who work at the Utah Diabetes and Endocrinology Center to provide exceptional, comprehensive diagnostic and follow up care for adult patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, parathyroid disease, disorders of lipid metabolism, pituitary dysfunction, adrenal disorders, gonadal disorders, hirsutism, osteoporosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and bone/calcium disorders. In addition, we have four nurse practitioners who provide exceptional care for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Click here for our physician and staff directory.
We also have special services that include: comprehensive diabetes care, continuous glucose monitoring, endocrine testing, thyroid ultrasound and fine needle biopsy of thyroid nodules, and bone mineral densitometry evaluation and interpretation. In addition, one of our faculty members, Dr. Wayne Meikle, is the Medical Director for endocrine testing in the Department of Pathology. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing up-to-date information and state-of-the-art care for our patients.
