X-Ray Support

Support for the determination of protein crystal structures is available to members of the CEMH. The X-ray facility, in the laboratory of Dr. Christopher Hill, has all of the reagents and tools required to solve simple to highly complex protein structures.

Instrumentation Includes:

  • State-of-the-art robot to assist in pipetting 1000's of solutions in attempt to crystallize your purified protein
  • Rotating Cu anode X-ray generator for use in data collection
  • Two detectors fitted with cold arms for use in data collection
  • Software for data analysis, phase determination, structure refinement and model building on multiple computers.

Investigators interested in structural projects are encouraged to contact the Hill laboratory to identify an experimental plan and timeline.

For additional information about the structural facilities as well as some hematology related structures that have been recently solved, visit the X-ray facility's website.
