Claudia Goulston, MD

Claudia Goulston, MDClaudia Goulston MD is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. She is board certified in both of these specialties and has a great interest in HIV care and tropical diseases.

Dr. Goulston graduated from the University of Vermont in 1990 and completed her internship, residency, and chief residency at Tufts University, Newton Wellesley Hospital. She completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at Stanford University in 1996.

Dr. Goulston worked in private practice starting up an HIV and infectious disease clinic as well as working as a hospitalist for 8 years in Eugene, OR. From 2004-2006 in New Zealand she worked as a consultant physician teaching medical students and residents, setting up an expatriate clinic in Shanghai, China, and as a mentor to other physicians on HIV management for the University of Washington I-Tech program in Namibia.

Dr. Goulston joined the University of Utah in August of 2006 and divides her time between the HIV clinic, Infectious Diseases clinic and training other physicians. She has traveled to more than 50 countries and enjoys teaching patients and physicians alike and being a medical detective.
