This is what we have had in the past ----Over the past year Mark has continued to teach in the English Department at the University of Utah. In the fall of 2002 he gave the inaugural lecture in the Favorite Professor Lecture Series established by the Associated Students of the University. The title of the lecture was "Shakespeare as Prophet: The Tragedies and the Prophetic Tradition." Mark also continued to teach and serve on committees in the University's Honors Program. He devoted a good deal of time to the new British Studies Program in the English Department, including planning and leading the first British Studies "Seminar Abroad" in London. More than twenty students spent a month in London studying Renaissance theater and attending productions of Shakespeare's plays. This was a successful first step in developing the Program and enriching opportunities for English students at the U, an ongoing process in which Mark continues to be actively involved.
