Pathology
NeuroPathology lab receives and analyzes specimens of muscle, nerve, brain, and tumors of both nerve and supporting structures. While this section of pathology is run by Dr. Steve Chin, muscle and nerve histology preparation and reading is under the direction of Dr. Kevin Flanigan.
Skin biopsy is both a clinical and research tool, and is performed primarily by Dr. A. Gordon Smith. Gross clinical autopsy is performed several times a week, and comprises Autopsy Conference for both neurology and pathology residents rotating through the NeuroPathology elective.
