Sleep
The Sleep Clinic at the University of Utah Department of Neurology is located in Research Park, a community of both academic and private research facilities located immediately south of the hospital campus.
Housed in a spacious building staffed by sleep-specialty trained neurologists and pulmonologists, continuous polysomnography technicians provide care for up to 9 over-night sleep study patients at any given time. Out patient sleep clinics take place here during daytime hours as well.
The evaluation of central and peripheral apneas, insomnias/parasomnias, restless legs movements, and non-invasive pressure devices are just a few of the entities referred here.
The Sleep-Wake Center at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics is an accredited member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). It is the only sleep center in the intermountain west with a multidisciplinary treatment team staffed by both pulmonology, neurology, and psychology. This center is comprised of a 6 bed sleep disorder suite with associated recording capabilities, with professional patient care delivered by night-time sleep technologists.
