John W Rose, MD
Professor of Neurology
John W. Rose, M.D. is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Utah and the Chief of Neurology at the VA. He graduated from the University of Maryland and where he also completed training in neurology. He was a medical staff fellow in the Neuroimmunology Branch at the National Institutes of Health prior to joining the faculty at the University of Utah. He is Chief of Neurology at the Salt Lake City VA hospital. Dr. Rose and his colleagues investigate diverse aspects of multiple sclerosis (MS) including:
- Immunopathology of MS and related models
- Development of new treatments for MS
- Early disease detection with advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Detection of susceptibility genes for MS
