Clinical Interests:
Dr. Thulin has special expertise in the evaluation and treatment of movement disorders. She diagnoses and manages Parkinson's disease, and evaluates patients with Parkinson's disease for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. She also treats patients with Essential Tremor, and evaluates them for Deep Brain Stimulation as well. Other conditions that she evaluates include Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Corticobasal Degeneration, and other atypical parkinsonism syndromes or tremor syndromes. She sees patients with Tourette's syndrome and other tic disorders. Dr. Thulin also sees patients with Huntington's chorea and chorea from other causes.
Dr. Thulin has extensive experience, since 1993, with Botulinum toxin treatment ( BOTOX and Myobloc), in the treatment of Cervical Dystonia (torticollis), Blepharospasm, Meige's syndrome, and Hemi-facial Spasm, and dystonic tics. She directs her own Therapeutic Botulinum Toxin clinic. She also treats patients with Dopa-responsive Dystonia.
Research Interests:
Dr. Thulin's research interest include hormonal effects on Parkinson's disease, cognition in Parkinson's disease, and dystonia.
