Sandra P. Reyna, MD

Sandra P. Reyna received her M.D. from University of San Carlos in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She subsequently completed a clinical externship in pediatrics at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City before pursuing a research career in clinical genetics. She worked as a research physician in cardiovascular genetics for many years before joining Dr. Swoboda in 2003 to co-direct the Pediatric Motor Disorders Research Program.

Dr. Reyna is the Clinical Trials Manager for Project Cure Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a multi-center international collaborative initiative between Families of SMA and clinical investigators designed to help facilitate the rapid translation of promising new therapies to clinical trials for SMA patients (http://www.projectcuresma.org).
