Susan Sandoval Run for Ovarian Cancer
The Susan Sandoval Foundation for Ovarian Cancer was created to increase awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors for ovarian cancer as well as other gynecologic cancers (uterine, cervix, vulvar, vaginal and fallopian tube.) The goals of the foundation are to educate and improve the care of women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers and focus on innovative research in the field of gynecologic cancers. Susan Sandoval was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer in May 2005 and died May 2007. She worked as a nurse at LDS and Primary Children's hospitals for 21 years. She had many friends, talked passionately about patient care and rights, and had incredible strength within her to always look at the positive in life and make the best of every day.

Ovarian Cancer is the eighth most common cancer among women, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 22,430 new cases over ovarian cancer will be diagnosed in the United States during 2007. Ovarian cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in women.
Thanks to all who participated in our 2007 race and made it such a huge success. We raised a grand total of $13,474.00 that will be put towards ovarian cancer research and outreach. We hope to see you back next year.
