Center of Excellence in Women's Health
The CoE in Women’s Health is a multidisciplinary group focused on enhancing the wholeness of health and wellness for women. Our goal is to empower women of all ages with the knowledge to improve their health and the health of their families. The work of the CoE is based on the following:
- Respect, caring, compassion and integrity
- Being non-competitive, non-hierarchical and collaborative
- Evidence-based practices
Everything we do is based on our philosophy that health is not just physical health, but psychological/emotional, environmental, sociocultural, intellectual, economic and spiritual, an approach we summarize as “The 7 Domains of Health”.
We promote these domains through information, research, education, outreach programs and clinical care. The CoE provides a great opportunity for people with similar philosophies to network and share and develop great projects together.
2010–2016 Our outreach focuses on a grant from the Department of Human Services Office on Women's Health: "Coalition for a Healthier Community". We are one of 10 awardees across the country and work with a grassroots coalition, the Community Faces of Utah (CFU) to promote a healthy lifestyle intervention in five ethnic populations training community wellness coaches with a preventive health approach.
2007–2009 Our activities were focused on a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Women's Health: Utah Women's Health Information Network.
