Oncological Sciences

Journal Club

Journal clubs are participation seminar courses required of all students and faculty. There are a variety of Journal Clubs taught by Oncological Sciences as well as other departments in the health sciences. As many clubs as possible will be listed here, including some from other departments. Speak with your advisor for additional information about appropriate clubs for your individual research interests.

Transcription

Transcription Journal Club is an opportunity for colleagues interested in transcriptional biology to present, learn, and discuss work of importance in the field. The format involves weekly article presentations and monthly research talks.

Cancer Biology

The Cancer Biology Journal Club has been revamped this year to provide an improved educational organization, and increased depth on specific cancer biology topics. The year has been divided into six blocks, and each block will have a unique focus. Each block also has 2-4 faculty mentors assigned. The mentors can help choose an appropriate paper, answer questions that come up while you’re preparing your presentation, and will attend all of the presentations for that block (schedules permitting). We hope that having faculty with expertise in the area being presented will allow for an improved level of discussion.
