Stephen K. Aoki, M.D.

Dr. Stephen K. Aoki is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He practices at the University Orthopaedic Center and Primary Children’s Medical Center.
Dr. Aoki received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and completed Medical School at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Utah. Following residency training, he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Utah. He then joined a private practice in Salt Lake City for his first three years after his training. He joined the University of Utah Department of Orthopaedics faculty in 2008 where he specializes in sports medicine with an academic focus of pediatric and adolescent sports injuries. Dr. Aoki’s clinical and research interests focus on the shoulder, hip and knee. Current projects include the multi-ligament injured knee, AC separations, patellar instability, and cartilage injuries. Most of Dr. Aoki’s research interests are focused on pediatric and adolescent injuries.
