Dr. Patel is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Patel received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and M.D. from Northwestern University Medical School. He completed his internship and orthopaedic surgical residency at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, followed by a fellowship in Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Patel's clinical and research interests include cervical spine surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preserving spine surgery including artificial disc replacement and other "fusionless" surgical techniques, adult and adolescent scoliosis, degenerative conditions of the spine, trauma and tumor of the spine.
