Dr. Charles L. Saltzman is Chairman and Professor of the University of Utah Department of Orthopaedics. He attended Brown University, and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Michigan and a Foot and Ankle Fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Kenneth A. Johnson at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Saltzman has authored over 140 peer reviewed publications, 30 book chapters, and has co-edited three major textbooks. He has co-edited the foot and ankle sections of 2 major orthopaedic textbooks. He is the current President Elect for the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and has served, among other posts, as the Program Chairman and Research Council Chairman for the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is also the Treasurer of the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons.
Dr. Saltzman has been the principal investigator on two major NIH studies. He has participated as a faculty member and a Chairman of several AAOS instructional courses. In addition, he has been the Co-Chair for the AAOS Comprehensive Review Course on the foot and ankle and the AOFAS "Advanced Foot and Ankle surgery Course".
