John T. Smith, M.D.Dr. Smith is a pediatric Orthopaedic surgeon practicing at Primary Children's Medical Center and the University of Utah. He received his M.D. at the University of Florida in Gainesville, completed his residency at the University of Utah and did a fellowship in pediatric Orthopaedics and spinal deformities at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta. His current practice is focused on the treatment of spine deformities in children and pediatric Orthopaedics. Dr. Smith has extensive experience in the treatment of spinal deformities in children and adolescents. He is the Director of the Pediatric Scoliosis Clinic, and the principal orthopedist in the PCMC Spina Bifida clinic. His research interests focused on pediatric spine disorders, fractures, and cost-effective care. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Western Orthopaedic Association, the Scoliosis Research Society, and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.
