UNIVERSITY OF UTAH ORTHOPAEDIC CENTER
The UUOC is a state of the art Orthopaedic Hospital designed to allow fully integrated care of all Orthopaedic patients. Most outpatient clinics for full-time faculty take place at the UUOC. In addition, the facility includes five OR's, six in-patient beds and state of the art imaging including digital radiology and MRI. The facility is chartless and filmless and offers an excellent learning environment for residents and medical students.
UNIVERSITY OF UTAH MEDICAL CENTER
The University of Utah Medical Center is a tertiary referral center for the Intermountain Region. Residents receive diversified and comprehensive exposure to adult reconstruction, sports medicine, and spine surgery. It serves as a regional Level-1 trauma center, and has an active Emergency Department.
Residents work hand in hand with the attending staff in the outpatient clinic and the operating room; and are also given a significant amount of independence, depending on level of training. Residents rotate through the University in each year of their training.
PRIMARY CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER
Primary Children's Medical Center is a large Children's Hospital adjacent to the University of Utah Medical Center. It is a tertiary referral center for the Intermountain West. Senior and Junior level residents work closely with pediatric orthopaedic attending staff addressing pediatric orthopaedic problems. There is a busy Emergency Department, which serves as the regional Level-1 trauma center for children.
V.A. MEDICAL CENTER
The Veteran's Administration Medical Center is a regional referral center for Veterans. Residents are exposed to a wide variety of are exposed to a wide variety of adult reconstructive problems, hand and spinal disorders. There is a busy outpatient clinic where residents work closely with attending staff from the University of Utah, but are given considerable autonomy in patient care and decision-making. Residents currently rotate through the V.A. during the fourth and fifth year.
SHRINERS HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN - SALT LAKE CITY
The Shriners Hospital provides the resident with unique experience and teaching in the area of complex reconstructive problems in children. The beautiful hospital includes state of the art equipment, a gait lab, and the only regional amputee clinic for children.
