Psychiatry Research

Researchers in the Department of Psychiatry are a pioneering force in sorting out the secrets of the brain. Using collaborative teams to expand the understanding of the complex functions of the brain, our researchers are focused on developing meaningful treatments to predict, pre-empt, and cure psychological and neurological brain diseases.

Much of our innovation has come as a result of our extensive brain imaging, genetic, and epidemiological studies relating to addiction, suicide prevention, drug development, autism, depression, and other psychiatric disorders. Our interdisciplinary team of researchers knows that it’s the translation of research into new clinical and medicinal treatments that helps people with mental illness acquire and maintain a better quality of life.
