Information for Foreign Medical Graduates
Information for Foreign Medical Graduates:
To be eligible to apply, you must have taken and passed the ECFMG exam prior to application and be registered through the National Resident Matching Program for the 2005-6 year. You must also be eligible to obtain a Utah medical license at the start of your second year of training (after internship), which in most cases means that you have completed some postgraduate medical training in this country already. We have many more applicants for our residency positions than we can accept and competition for our program is intense. If you feel you can be categorized as a very competitive applicant and are able to fulfill the requirements listed above we encourage you to apply.
We participate in ERAS and expect to receive all residency applications through the Electronic Residency Application System. The ECFMG will have the role of the Dean’s Office for foreign medical graduates who apply to our program. The application deadline is November 4, 2005 for positions beginning July, 2007. Your application will be reviewed by a committee which will decide if it is competitive enough to invite you to interview in person. We do require a personal interview in order to rank our candidates. We require that the following documents are scanned in with your electronic application:
- Letter from the Dean
- Transcripts of medical school grades
- Three letters of recommendation from physicians who can evaluate your performance.
- National Board Scores.
- A recent photo (optional)
