Pilot and Small Projects Research Grant Program
Occupational safety and health one-year project funding of $5000 to $10,000 may support:
- Innovative approaches or lines of investigation,
- Application of knowledge/expertise from other fields to occupational safety and health,
- Development of new mechanisms to address emerging occupational safety and health concerns,
- Translational research to practice projects, and/or
- Masters and doctoral capstone projects (faculty mentor required).
This NIOSH grant funding supports exploratory, interventional, or investigational research with direct linkage to NORA or NIOSH Research to Practice (r2p).
Project Principal Investigators should be full-time faculty or doctoral students within NIOSH Region VIII (UT, CO, MT, SD, ND, WY). Principle Investigators from outside the University of Utah should identify a RMCOEH program director with whom they will communicate regarding the progress of the project.
Projects should result in at least one peer reviewed publication and prepare the investigators to submit additional, related research grant proposals.
