Commencement
Commencement for the School of Medicine will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 10:00 at Kingsbury Hall, 1395 E. Presidents Circle.
Cap and Gown
Information regarding regalia (Cap, Gown, Tassel, Hood, etc.) is handled through the University Bookstore. The Student Affairs office will send out information regarding the dates and forms for obtaining the proper regalia.
Line-up/Seating of Graduates
All students who plan on walking in the commencement ceremony must arrive at Kingsbury Hall no later than 9:00 a.m. Specific instructions regarding line-up and seating will be emailed out to the students and department directors several weeks prior to commencement.
Guest Seating
Tickets are not required to attend the School of Medicine Commencement ceremony. Seating for students, faculty, and those requiring accommodations will be reserved. All other seating is open for guests. Families and guests must be seated by 10:00 in order for the faculty processional to begin.
Accommodations
Special seating arrangements for guests requiring accommodations will be provided; additional seating is available near the reserved area for those accompanying persons in wheelchairs. For anyone requiring special seating or accommodations, please contact Ruth Hackford-Peer (581-3657 / ruth.hackford-peer@hsc.utah.edu) by April 15th, 2010.
Parking
Parking for the School of Medicine Commencement is available at the Rice Eccles Stadium parking lot, with shuttle service dropping off Kingsbury Hall. Families/friends are encouraged to drop graduates off at Kingsbury Hall before parking at Rice Eccles Stadium to prevent late arrivals for the line-up.
Photographs
Gammell Photography has been authorized to photograph all graduates from the School of Medicine. Please note that the graduates are under no obligation to purchase these photographs. Guests are authorized to take personal photographs, but will not be allowed on the floor (stage front) of Kingsbury Hall during the ceremony.
