Commencement

SOM MSIV Graduation/Records Class Meeting - 3/26/2012

Commencement for the School of Medicine will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 10:00 at Kingsbury Hall, 1395 E. Presidents Circle.

Regalia

Regalia (cap, gown, tassel and hood) can be purchased at the University Campus Store. The University Campus Store hosts a Graduation Fair each spring, and the Dean's Office Student Affairs will announce the dates of the fair. (Graduation announcements, etc., are also available through the University Campus Store.)

Line-up/Seating of Graduates

All students who plan on walking in the commencement ceremony must arrive at Kingsbury Hall no later than 9:00 AM. Specific instructions regarding line-up and seating will be provided to students and department directors/coordinators several weeks prior to commencement.

Guest Seating

Guests are required to have tickets to attend the School of Medicine Commencement ceremony. Seating for graduates, faculty and those requiring disability accommodations will be reserved. Please refer to Accommodations below.) Additional seating (three people each) is available near the reserved area for the person accompanying those in wheelchairs. All other seating is open for guests. Guests must be seated by 10:00 AM in order for the faculty processional to begin the commencement ceremony.

Accommodations

Special seating, parking or other disability accommodations will be provided. For anyone requiring disability accommodations, please contact Rholinda Lange in the Dean's Office Student Affairs (801-581-3657 or Rholinda.Lange@hsc.utah.edu) by April 15.

Parking and Shuttle Service

Parking and Shuttle Service for the School of Medicine's Commencement is available at the Rice-Eccles Stadium Parking Lot. Families/guests are encouraged to drop graduates off at Kingsbury Hall before parking at Rice-Eccles Stadium to prevent late arrivals for the processional line-up.

Photographs

Gammell Photography has been authorized to photograph all graduates from the School of Medicine. Please note that the graduates are under no obligation to purchase these photographs. Guests may take personal photographs; yet, guests will not be allowed on the floor (stage front) of Kingsbury Hall during the commencement ceremony.
