About the Summit
The Inaugural Cancer Pain Summit is the first conference dedicated exclusively to the assessment and management of cancer pain — bringing together clinicians across disciplines for four days of evidence-based learning, expert faculty, and meaningful connection. The Summit is hosted by the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine in partnership with Huntsman Cancer Institute at University of Utah Health.
Curriculum
The four-day program is structured as a progressive learning experience. Days 1 and 2 focus on the foundations of cancer pain assessment and management of common clinical scenarios. Days 3 and 4 build on those principles with advanced topics, multidisciplinary case discussions, and interventional approaches to complex cancer pain — making the Summit valuable for clinicians at every stage of practice.
Faculty & Attendees
Sessions are led by nationally recognized experts across Pain Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Medicine, Neurosurgery, Radiology, and more. The Summit welcomes physicians, fellows, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals involved in cancer care.
Location & Schedule
Sessions run daily from 7:00 – 9:00 am and 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Westgate Resort & Spa in Park City, Utah — leaving plenty of time to enjoy world-class skiing and winter recreation between sessions.

Cancer Pain Summit Committee
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing by January 11, 2027. Cancellations received by this date will receive a full refund, minus a $100 processing fee. After January 11th, registration fees are non-refundable, except in cases of extenuating circumstances, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are not guaranteed. Please email refund requests to anesthesia.postgrad@hsc.utah.edu.
