The 71st Annual Theodore H. Stanley Update in Anesthesiology was held February 8–12, 2026 at the Westgate Resort & Spa in Park City. The conference offered a dynamic opportunity to learn from experts, attend hands-on workshops, engage in professional development, and connect with other colleagues from across the field. Speakers shared the latest advances in anesthesiology while providing insights from a range of specialties.
Special thanks to Westgate Park City for hosting us; to event organizer Amber Dinneen for her exceptional work; and to our sponsors—Blink Device Company, Dräger, Masimo, Mindray, Octapharma, Pacira Biosciences, Inc, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals—for their generous support.
Throughout the conference, attendees had multiple opportunities to connect, including a Super Bowl watch party that brought participants and vendors together. Each afternoon also featured an après-ski social where folks could connect in a relaxed atmosphere.
Each day featured lectures from specialists from across the field of anesthesiology. Topics included artificial intelligence (AI) in anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, sleep apnea in perioperative settings, nerve blocks, neuroanesthesia, target-controlled infusion systems, and more.
After the morning sessions, attendees had time to enjoy the world-famous slopes of Park City and other local attractions. For those seeking additional training, hands-on workshops in regional anesthesia, TTE, and EEG were offered. A MOCA certification course at the Center for Patient Simulation was also available on Thursday.
The conference also provided a meaningful moment of transition, as attendees heard from both incoming department chair Dr. Grace Lim and outgoing chair Dr. Talmage D. Egan.
Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s Theodore H. Stanley Annual Update in Anesthesiology, slated for February 7-11, 2027. We look forward to another year of insightful discussion, skill-building, and meaningful connection!
