Visiting Professor Richard Boyer, MD, PhD, Brings a Vision for the Future of Perioperative Medicine

We were recently honored to welcome Richard Boyer, MD, PhD, as a Visiting Professor! Dr. Boyer is an Assistant Attending Anesthesiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, where he also holds the distinction of Fun-Sun Frank and Baw-Chyr Peggy Yao Research Scholar in Anesthesiology.

During his visit, Dr. Boyer delivered Grand Rounds on "Perioperative Surgical Home in the Cloud: AI and Wearable Initiatives in Perioperative Medicine" — an engaging and forward-looking exploration of how artificial intelligence and wearable technology are reshaping the landscape of perioperative care. His presentation sparked thoughtful discussion about the future of patient monitoring, data-driven decision making, and the evolving role of anesthesiologists in a rapidly changing technological environment.
