Curriculum Overview

The coursework directly informs informatics practice in health care settings, including human factors, standards and terminologies, computer programming, and clinical systems implementation. The curriculum is divided into six core courses, to be taken during the first year and six individual track based courses in the second year, pertaining to either Clinical Informatics or Translational Bioinformatics.

  3. Medicine For Science & Engineers
  4. Introduction to Programming
  5. Statistics
  6. Terminologies & Standards
Classes will be offered with assistive technology, including online lectures from global experts and on-campus hands-on activities. Course instructors will travel from the Utah campus to the Asia campus for two weeks, and two local faculty will guide students on campus.

Degree Requirements

Degree requirements include:

  • a passing grade in each course,
  • a capstone project,
  • and a final exam.

The capstone project requires a paper related to an approved practicum or can be a literature review on an approved topic of interest to the student.
