IABtalks Networking Events

The Department of Biomedical Informatics Industry Advisory Board (IAB) at the University of Utah hosted another great event on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. We went virtual again and this allowed for many more people to attend that would not have been able to if it was an in-person event.

This continues to be a successful event, with students attending from across the state and many students with biomedical informatics and computer science backgrounds. This event also draws many professionals in industry and government who look forward to networking with others in the biomedical informatics field.

We kicked off the evening with a panel discussion highlighting the student experience from several of our department’s students along with a Chemistry undergrad doing informatics research. After Dr. Zaniello’s keynote address, attendees joined different virtual exhibit booths hosted by several of our IAB companies, BMI faculty and a MS student where they presented a broad range of practical solutions to real world health informatics problems.

We look forward to our next IABtalks October 2021. Hope to see you all there!
