Mollie R. Cummins, PhD, receives College of Nursing's Excellence in Scholarship & Research Award for 2012

Dr. Mollie Cummins, Associate Professor at the University of Utah, College of Nursing, and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics received the 2012 College of Nursing’s Excellence in Scholarship & Research Award. This award is presented to a College of Nursing faculty member who demonstrates excellence in scholarship and research. Following are some excerpts from the nomination letters:
"Dr. Cummins is sought by others on campus as a frequent collaborator on research projects. Her salary support is substantial from funded grants as both a PI (AHRQ funding) and Co-I (VA and NIH funding). Dr. Cummins has also been generous with doctoral students, offering them opportunities to work with her on her research and publishing with them…It is beneficial to the faculty and students in the College to draw on her expertise in informatics, data-mining, poison control, and research methods. ...Dr. Cummins is a nurse-researcher who has arrived at a milestone in her career. Her research is extraordinarily collaborative, as she works with up to 4 or 5 research teams at any given time. Her accomplishments are inspiring and most deserving of the College of Nursing research award this year."
