Students in the Department of Biomedical Informatics recently came together to organize a meaningful community service project in support of Help Me Grow, combining service, connection, and a shared commitment to giving back. Held on Tuesday, March 31, in DBMI Classroom 1470, the lunchtime event invited students, faculty, and staff to spend time assembling matching games for Help Me Grow, an organization dedicated to supporting children and families.
With lunch provided, the gathering created a welcoming space for members of the DBMI community to connect while contributing to a project that will benefit others. The event reflected the initiative and leadership of DBMI students, who organized the service opportunity as a way to make a positive impact beyond the classroom. It also highlighted the department’s strong sense of community and shared values of collaboration, service, and engagement.
By bringing people together for a fun and purposeful activity, the project served as a reminder that even small acts of service can make a meaningful difference.
