RMCOEH Faculty Selected to lead Utah Section of CDC Study on COVID-19 Among Emergency Response and Healthcare Personnel

Dr. Sarang Yoon has been selected to lead the Utah section of RECOVER: Research on the Epidemiology of COVID-19 in Emergency Response and Healthcare Personnel, a CDC-funded study in collaboration with Abt Associates. RMCOEH Director Speaks at Press Conference

Kurt Hegmann, MD, MPH, Director of the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational & Environmental Health, spoke Friday at a press conference held by Utah governor Gary Herbert in support of the governor's decision to enact a "soft closure" of Utah's K-12 schools in response to community spread of COVID-19, or the novel corona virus. Dr. Hegmann outlined the science behind the decision close the schools and praised the government's swift and protective action. Dr. Joseph Allen, professor occupational and environmental health at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational & Environmental Health (University of Utah) and director of the Center for Meeting Effectiveness (CME) shared his expertise with the BBC recently, identifying meeting recovery syndrome (MRS) as the need for recovery following a meeting.
