Sleep Health, the official Journal of the National Sleep Foundation, is a multidisciplinary journal that looks at the role of sleep in health and healthcare. Despite being a relatively new journal—the initial publication was printed in March of 2015—Sleep Health enjoys a wide circulation and is the premier journal for the growing fields of sleep health research and practice. The inaugural impact factor of the journal—the measure of the frequency with which an average article in a journal has been cited during a particular year—is a high 6.6555 over the past five years, underscoring its pivotal position in the research field.
In recognition of her expertise and the excellent reputation of her scholarship in sleep health medicine, DFPM’s Public Health associate professor Kelly Glazer Baron, PhD, MPH, DBSM was recently appointed senior associate editor of Sleep Health by the journal’s Editorial Board. As senior associate editor, Baron will help determine the future direction of the journal while maintaining its high standard of scholarship and relevance to sleep researchers and clinicians.“The journal’s emphasis on sleep health equity is one reason I’m excited to increase my role,” says Baron. “It’s an excellent opportunity to promote the applications of sleep research to public health.”
