Joanne Rolls Wins Publishing Award

Physician Assistant Program associate professor Joanne Rolls, MEHP, MPAS, PA-C was recently informed that she has been named the 2021 recipient for the American Academy of Physician Assistants (APPA) Publishing Award for her publication of "Curricular Approaches to Transgender Health in PA Education," which took an in-depth look at the methods and prevalence of transgender healthcare information provided in Physician Assistant training.
"This is one of the highest professional honors a PA can obtain in our academy," said Ngyuen Park, MS, PA-C, DFAAPA and Co-Chair of the 2021 AAPA Awards Committee, as she informed Rolls of the award. "I hope to continue to work with you and see how you inspire others in our profession."The AAPA Publishing Award is granted to a PA who recently published new clinical or research article expressing original and scientifically rigorous ideas substantiated by best practices and contributing to the advancement of the PA profession. Rolls's award was publicly announced by the Academy in their conference last week.
