Giving Day Brings In Over $3K for UPAP Students

February 23-24 was the University of Utah's annual Giving Day, a period of time where alumni, students, faculty, staff, researchers, and other supporters of the University are encouraged to donate funds to various causes around campus.
This year was unique for the Utah Physician Assistant Program (UPAP) because it was the first year that the School of Medicine featured Physician Assistant programs on their official Giving Day pages and provided a specific mechanism for UPAP supporters to give directly to UPAP student programs. As a result, UPAP saw a groundswell of financial support, as nearly 40 donors gifted over $3,000 for UPAP's scholarship fund efforts.
Donors were also generous with their words of praise for UPAP in the comment section of the Giving Day site, with many alumni donors citing fond memories of their time in the program and the necessity of well-trained Physician Assistants in the state and the nation. Some of these comments are listed below.
- UPAP is an outstanding, historically rich, deeply committed program to train compassionate PA's called to service in something larger than themselves.
- I love UPAP and feel eternally grateful for all the opportunities it has afforded me. This isn’t much, but hopefully it will help a student achieve their goal.
- Scholarship for our up and coming healthcare providers is so important. I am proud to support them.
