Emily Navar, DNP is a family nurse practitioner whose primary clinical focus is on pediatric care.
She delivers pediatric primary care within a patient-centered medical home model at the University Sugar House Health Center. Additionally, she focuses on developmental and behavioral assessment at the University Developmental Assessment Clinics and South Main Clinic, including evaluating and caring for children with autism.
Her special interests lie in working with underserved and immigrant populations and she presented research on Addressing a Fear of Family Separation Among a Hispanic Population at the Western Institute of Nursing Research Conference in 2019. Additionally, she has collaborated with local pediatricians on an American Academy of Pediatrics CATCH (Community Access to Child Health) grant entitled Families Together Utah.
As a clinical nurse, she played a leadership role in developing and implementing processes for chronic care management services among children with complex medical conditions in primary care. She graduated from the URLEND (Utah Regional Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) training program.
She received her Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) degree from Johns Hopkins University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Utah.
